From Dream to Reality: Our Boutique Adventure

Way back in 2019, from the comfort of our homes in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, we decided to embark on a new life adventure! We had a dream of opening a women's clothing boutique as a mother-daughter duo. Initially, we thought about doing this in the Vancouver area. Then, out of the blue, a friend sent us an email sharing her plans to open a business in Sint Maarten. She shared pictures of the quaint streets in Philipsburg and talked about the potential the tourism industry offered.

We looked at each other and smiled. Could we open our business in Sint Maarten instead? Our hearts said yes. However, having never visited the island before, we decided to book a short trip to check it out. The moment we arrived, we knew we were "home." Sint Maarten has that effect on so many! It offers a sense of peace and carries a special energy not found in many other places.

After several days of exploring this island paradise, we returned home, sold everything we owned in Canada, and returned two months later to start building our boutique from the ground up. Oh My Goddess! opened its doors for business in December 2019, and we have been welcoming tourists and locals alike ever since.

Overcoming Challenges: The Lockdown Experience

However, our prior business experience did little to prepare us for the challenges we faced when the world went into lockdown just months after we opened our doors. We weathered that passing storm 'gracefully' and have since developed loyal and lasting relationships over the years.

Having never been known to rest for long, we noticed more clients approaching us with their interests in moving to this island paradise. It was time to expand once again. We decided to add a 'new string to our bow,' as we like to say, and become 'Real Estate Experts.'
