Indigo Bay is for buyers who want privacy and a beach below the house while staying close to Philipsburg. Mornings on the beach are quiet, the Seaside Nature Park next door offers horse rides into the sea, and Little Bay Beach nearby is calm and good for snorkelling. The bay is reached by car, and The Setai St. Maarten resort is planned on it.
Close by (checked September 2026): Indigo Beach is small and calm, reached through the community's gated entrance; it is open to the public, with parking by the beach restaurant. Little Bay Beach, between Indigo Bay and Philipsburg, is sheltered by the Fort Amsterdam peninsula, with water sports and beach bars. Seaside Nature Park next door has riding lessons and a petting farm for children as well as guided rides into the sea. Fort Amsterdam, begun in 1631, has free entry. Philipsburg's Front Street, known for jewellery, watches and duty-free goods, and the Great Bay boardwalk are a short drive east, and the Carrefour Market on Bush Road is open seven days a week. Learning Unlimited Preparatory School, teaching since 1990, and the St. Maarten Medical Center are both a short drive away in Cay Hill.

Indigo Bay draws buyers who want a new, finished villa above a beach, behind one guarded entrance, a short drive from Philipsburg and from the hospital and schools in Cay Hill. Get to know Indigo Bay, St. Maarten
Indigo Bay is a gated development on the hillside above Cay Bay, between Cole Bay and Philipsburg, with a single guarded entrance. Homes face the sea above a small, calm beach with an on-site restaurant. The Setai St. Maarten, announced in December 2025 on the former Vie L'Ven site, is planned on the bay with completion targeted for 2028, and Little Bay, Fort Amsterdam and Philipsburg's shopping street are a short drive east.

Buying in Indigo Bay: what to check. The Infinity Villas by Elie Saab are listed at about $604 per square foot for the four-bedroom Frontline villas ($3,250,000) and about $689 for the five-bedroom Highline villas ($3,708,000); both listings show 5,382 sq ft of interior space (11 October 2026). Both were completed in 2025 and are sold fully furnished, with an infinity pool, a jacuzzi, an elevator, a garage, smart-home controls and a concierge, in a gated community with a communal pool; the Highline villas also list shared beach access. Neither listing gives an estate fee: get the fee, the services it pays for (gate, concierge, roads, beach) and the association's budget in writing. Ask for the deed type, the as-built plans and the developer's warranty, and an inventory of the furniture package. The Setai St. Maarten is planned on the bay, with completion targeted for 2028: ask about construction hours and access during the works. And get an insurance quote, including windstorm cover, before you sign.
